Can my chevy dealer install a V8?

Would my local chevy dealer likely have any problems with installing a 4.8 liter V8 in place of my stock 4.3 liter V6? Would I likely need to have certain parts changed out to handle the power of the V8?
It's a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. Single Cab w/ LS package

Before you consider this project, there isn't much of any power advantage between these two motors. You'd be further ahead by choosing one of the 350 or 383 crate motors from GM. Be careful which rear end and transmission you have now. You didn't say what year make and model of car you wanted to make the change. Match up part numbers of the transmission and rear end in your car as if it already had a bigger motor and select parts and pieces accordingly. The 4.8 liter Chevrolet is an LS motor. You wouldn't be able to use any of the parts from the 4.3 to the 4.8.

Pick up a copy of the 2009 GM Performance Parts Catalog from your local Chevrolet dealer's parts counter. The part # for the $5.00 - 352 page catalog is 19243162. If they don't have it they'll order it for you. In this catalog you'll see why these two motors are so much different. Bell housings and motor mounts match but that's about it.
